The Atrium Clinic accredited Gaming Therapy course is designed for professionals working with young people who have some existing knowledge of counselling or therapeutic support. Delegates are expected to complete the full 1.5 days, beginning with Module 1: Onboarding to Gaming and VR Therapies.

Atrium Clinic’s Gaming and VR Courses equip professionals to integrate digital tools into therapy. Module 2: Incorporating Gaming and VR into Therapy with Young People Full day remote attendance1 Day

Aims
Explain the therapeutic applications of digital gaming and virtual reality (VR) within work with young people
Demonstrate the use of gaming and VR as practical tools in therapeutic sessions
Identify ethical, safeguarding, and practical considerations when integrating digital tools into practice
Explore gaming and VR applications that support trauma-informed, anxiety-reduction, and social skills interventions
Reference a range of games and VR platforms suitable for use in digital and blended therapy
Engage in hands-on exploration of games and VR experiences adaptable for therapeutic work
Gain practical experience through a hands-on introduction to VR and gaming hardware
Review the purpose, boundaries, and therapeutic intentions underlying game-based and VR interventions
Understand and access immediate support channels available for participants, including guidance for managing any difficulties that may arise during the course
Objectives
Describe therapeutic uses of digital gaming and VR
Demonstrate gaming and have knowledge of VR as tools in sessions
Indicate ethical, safeguarding, and practical considerations
List gaming and VR applications for trauma, anxiety, and social skills development

Course Fees

Full 1.5-day group course – £150 inclusive of VAT
Remote training includes protocol download and access to further resources on the Atrium website.
